Reebok to Customize Sneakers Using Digital Images Sent by Customers

Reebok announced that it has entered into a collaboration with Futureverse, a leader in metaverse technologies and revolutionary artificial intelligence. The sports brand announced the release of a new feature called Reebok Impact, which allows consumers to replicate their favorite pictures onto a digital sneaker.

The feature is a tool powered by artificial intelligence that works by sending a picture via direct message on Instagram. In turn, consumers will receive a custom sneaker in the style and colors of the picture. Consumers can use the feature to create four pairs of sneakers for free digitally. Additionally, they can send the files to games such as Roblox and Fortnite.

The use of artificial intelligence makes for an easy navigation experience by consumers. In a statement, Aaron McDonald and Shara Senderoff, cofounders of Futureverse, stated that the future of fashion had arrived and this was only the beginning.

It is important to note that Reebok isn’t giving consumers the ability to buy physical pairs of their digitally designed custom sneakers. However, the use of this feature will offer incentives for consumers to make real-life buys.

Reebok has been in the shoe game for decades and is the latest company to join the digital-fashion-game bandwagon.

A good example of other companies in this space include Nike, which recently announced new developments in SWOOSH, its digital wearable enterprise. Nike’s non-fungible token platform now allows consumers to come up with their own designs and enter competitions to make their digital sneakers real.

Another example would be Adidas, which recently announced a partnership with STEPN, focused on bringing sneaker non-fungible tokens to the platform. STEPN is a Web3 running application with social and game elements. Users furnish themselves with non-fungible tokens in sneaker form.

In other news, Draup plans to launch a new collection centered on internet trends. This digital fashion platform, powered by artificial intelligence, has been designed to create clothes that move at the speed of online culture.

The Sandbox, an online gaming platform that provides an immersive and unique gaming experience, is also collaborating with ITV studios and Virtual Brank Group in the creation of a new Web3 gaming experience. Additionally, Ethereum-based blogging platform Mirror was recently acquired by blockchain-based publishing platform Paragraph at an undisclosed figure.

As part of the agreement, Mirror founder Denis Nazarov will take on an advisor role to Colin Armstrong, Paragraph’s founder. In a post on X, Armstrong noted that the company was focused on accelerating its mission to change how creators grow and build direct relationships with their audiences.

Different companies such as Reebok and Horizon Fintex are finding innovative ways to utilize Web3 technologies. As the use cases of these solutions proliferate, Web3 is poised to become an integral part of daily activities and business operations.
