For those feeling uncertain about the future of cryptocurrencies, here is some good news. A fresh Consensys report has revealed that Web3 professionals are seriously optimistic about what’s coming next. Despite the regulatory uncertainties looming — especially with the 2024 U.S. presidential election on the horizon — 86% of professionals are confident about cryptocurrencies’ future.
So why are they feeling so positive? The Consensys survey shows that even with the regulatory concerns that worried many, the confidence of Web3 professionals is rock solid. According to Sarah Howe, Consensys’ executive director of talent acquisition, Web3 enthusiasts are driven by blockchain’s core value. Things such as transparency, decentralization and freedom motivate people to stay committed. The report indicates that 75% of those surveyed believe that the technology’s promise of making a positive difference in the world is too compelling to ignore.
When it comes to payment preferences, the survey revealed other interesting trends. Despite 67% of Web3 workers now getting paid in traditional fiat currency, a growing number want cryptocurrency payments. In fact, 51% want to receive a mix of crypto and fiat with only 13% preferring getting paid entirely in crypto. This shift shows that a lot of people are warming up to the idea of crypto payments. However, the stability of fiat currencies still holds a strong appeal.
What’s more, there is plenty of remote work with potential for more in the Web3 arena. There are 77% of remote Web3 workers and 75% more who identify as digital nomads. The nature of blockchain decentralization aligns perfectly with the freedom remote work culture offers.
According to Howe, this freedom is a big plus. In fact, 74% of survey respondents say working from multiple locations is a key factor in their job satisfaction.
Additionally, the survey also provides insights into the various roles available within the Web3 space. It reveals that 83% of respondents work full-time, while 13% are entrepreneurs, and 12% are involved in decentralized autonomous organizations (DAOs). This diversity shows that the Web3 world isn’t just about one type of job — it’s a vibrant space with opportunities for everyone.
Overall, while regulatory uncertainty is currently a hot topic, Web3 professionals are keeping a positive attitude and are excited about the future of crypto. With evolving payment preferences, plenty of flexibility and a wide range of job opportunities, it looks like the Web3 community is ready for whatever comes next.
This optimism is bound to grow given that many companies, such as Horizon Fintex, are increasing warming up to Web3 solutions tailored to their lines of business.
